Glenview Home of the Eagles, Where Everyone Soars!
GLENVIEW MAKES AYP! The students did a great job at Glenview Elementary during the 2008-2009 school year as they made AYP in Reading and Math. Glenview's TCAP scores were some of the highest in MNPS and in the state of Tennessee. Glenview had the highest TVASS scores in Reading in MNPS and the third highest TVASS score in Math. This is a great accomplishment and we would like to thank everyone that made Glenview a success story.

Glenview Elementary has two successful open houses!
This school year, under the leadership of Principal Claudia Russell, the staff of Glenview Elementary decided to conduct two open houses to more effectively communicate with the community. Both open houses were huge succe sses. The first was conducted before the first day of school on August 13th. The majority of the Glenview community attended. The main reason for the first open house was to congratulate the community on the academic achievements that Glenview had during the 2009-2010 school year. Glenview posted the third highest TVASS gain in Math and the highest TVASS gain in Reading/LA for MNPS. Glenview’s community played a major part in this improvement and deserved a congratulation for all of the work that they did in improving student achievement.
The second open house was conducted on September 10th. El Protector (Officer Fernandez) was their to discuss student safety with all of the parents and students. The main reason for the second open house was for parents to create communication lines with the teachers and increase the enrollment in PTO. It was a huge success as the enrollment in PTO has already quadrupled this year in relation to last year. The open house successes at Glenview Elementary is just another example of how MNPS Achieves.
Glenview Fall Festival a SUCCESS!
The parents of Glenview have always shown enormous support for the school and they continue to provide evidence of this fact with another great turnout for Glenview’s Fall Festival. Glenview’s Fall Festival was held on October 2nd and ended up having the largest community turnout that the staff has seen at Glenview. Around 600 to 700 people attended Fall Festival. Callouts were made to parents asking for donations for the creation of baskets and they truly responded. Glenview was able to create 65 baskets to be auctioned at Fall Festival, double the amount from last year. Twelve booths were rented to the community and numerous activities were provided to the community. Some of the activities provided to the community at Fall Festival were the lollipop tree, popcorn hands, cupcake walk, ring toss, face painting, tattoo booth, bowling, cake walk, kissing booth, hair painting, and huge inflatables that all of the children enjoyed. The event ended up being a great fundraising event for Glenview as the school raised more money this year from Fall Festival than last year, which is incredible considering the rough economic times everyone is facing. The faculty and staff would love to thank the Glenview community for its continued support and believe their parents are the most supportive in Nashville.
