School Profile

Welcome to Glenview Elementary School

Congratulations Ms. Russell for being chosen Principal of the Year 2012-13.  Ms. Russell and the faculty were excited to find out Ms. Russell was chosen POY.  She has worked at Glenview Elementary for six years as an administrator.  Ms. Russell began her career at Glenview as the assistant principal in 2006: and she looks forward to many more years in the Glenview community.

Glenview Elementary Home of the Eagles, Where Everyone Soars!

Welcome to Glenview Elementary's website.  Glenview is a true neighborhood school.  The school zone is 1.5 mile radius, making it one of the smallest in MNPS. Glenview's demographics include close to 700 students with 80% percent being non-English background. The school is the largest ELL elementary center in the state.  For many, it is the first designation as they arrive in American schools. More than 13 languages are represented at Glenview.  Students and families come from many different Latin American countries, Egypt, Sudan and of course America: making it a very diverse and multicultural school.   The faculty and staff at Glenview are dedicated to providing intentional and explicit instruction to all students. Glenview is a Title 1 school.  It also received the NCLB grant Reading First, which ended in 2009.  The grant was put to excellent use and it shows.  By the end of the grant Glenview was in good standing.  The teachers at Glenview are constantly involved in Professional Development to improve their teaching skills.  We feel we are partners with parents and the community in educating all our students.  We hope you read through our website to find out more about the exciting things going on at Glenview.

                                                     First Book Award

Glenview has been chosen again this year for the First Book Award.  This is a grant that will allow every student at Glenview to receive a book they will be allowed to take home and keep.  Thanks to the faculty members who took on the initiative to write the grant and always think about our students!

 Parent Suggestion/Complaint Procedures

In case you didn't know:
There is a procedure for registering a suggestion/complaint with our school.  Below are the correct steps to follow:

*  Set up a conference with that teacher.  If you are not satisfied with the outcome...
*  Stop by the office and make an appointment to talk with the Principal or Assistant Principal.

We also have great PTO officers who are willing to help also.  They are Irini Bakhoum, Deyhidamia Silva, and Osiris Rojas. Please feel free to stop by the office and leave a message for them also.

The complaint box that is located in the front office will be checked weekly for your suggestions on how we can make Glenview a safe and positive atmosphere for all of our students and parents.
