Welcome to Glenview Elementary School

Glenview Elementary Home of the Eagles, Where Everyone Soars!

Welcome to Glenview Elementary's website.  Glenview is a true neighborhood school.  The school zone is 1.5 mile radius, making it one of the smallest in MNPS. Glenview's demographics include close to 700 students with 80% percent being non-English background. The school is the largest ELL elementary center in the state.  For many, it is the first designation as they arrive in American schools. More than 13 languages are represented at Glenview.  Students and families come from many different Latin American countries, Egypt, Sudan and of course America: making it a very diverse and multicultural school.   The faculty and staff at Glenview are dedicated to providing intentional and explicit instruction to all students. Glenview is a Title 1 school.  It also received the NCLB grant Reading First, which ended in 2009.  The grant was put to excellent use and it shows.  By the end of the grant Glenview was in good standing.  The teachers at Glenview are constantly involved in Professional Development to improve their teaching skills.  We feel we are partners with parents and the community in educating all our students.  We hope you read through our website to find out more about the exciting things going on at Glenview.

                                                     First Book Award

Glenview has been chosen again this year for the First Book Award.  This is a grant that will allow every student at Glenview to receive a book they will be allowed to take home and keep.  Thanks to the faculty members who took on the initiative to write the grant and always think about our students!

Glenview Elementary is thrilled to announce that Lowe's has awarded us funding for the GLENVIEW GOES GREEN PROJECT. Our grant application was based on the goal of improving the learning community by improving our grounds at Glenview Elementary School. We look forward to sharing the project with the Glencliff Cluster and Glenview community. This project will improve our school by giving the community a clean and safe place to bring their children to play and learn during and after school. The students will learn the importance of taking care of the earth and the resources we have for future generations. If you would like to read the Toolbox For Education Newsletter it is attached below.

Target Grant

Glenview Elementary is pleased to announce that we have received the Target Grant. The Target Grant provided Glenview Elementary $800.00 for field trips to enrich the life experiences of the students within the Glenview community. The money was used to allow all 2nd and 4th graders to go to the Frist Art Museum. We would again like to thank Target for providing Glenview students with life experiences that will be beneficial for their entire lives!
